Dr. Amey Karkare
Professor, Computer Science and Engineering
Dr. Amey Karkare specializes in program analysis, compiler optimizations, software engineering, and computer-aided education. Developer of Prutor, a tutoring system for programming, he has supervised numerous students. With a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and a B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur, he currently serves as the Head of the CSE Department at IIT Kanpur, having also held key administrative roles such as Associate Dean for Digital Infrastructure. Recognized with the Poonam and Prabhu Goel Chair Fellowship (2022) and the Best Faculty Award (2018), his industry experience includes Synopsys India, Microsoft Research, and SAP Labs.
Dr. Arnab Bhattacharya
Professor, Computer Science and Engineering
Arnab Bhattacharya, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur, specializes in databases, data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. His research focuses on graph querying, high-dimensional indexing, text mining, and Indian language processing, with applications in legal domains and ancient texts like the Mahabharata and Ramayana. An experienced educator, he has taught courses on data mining, database indexing, information retrieval, and biocomputing, believing that teaching thrives on challenging questions from students.
Dr. Aparajitha Ojha
Professor, Computer Science and Engineering
Aparajita Ojha, Professor of Computer Science at IIITDM Jabalpur, has over 37 years of experience and was the institute’s Director (2009-2015). Her expertise includes machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and blockchain. As Chief Investigator for MeiTY, she has trained 11,000+ college teachers and now leads a project empowering girls in IT across Asia. She holds a PhD in Mathematical Sciences and certifications in blockchain and deep learning.
Dr. Ketan Rajawat
Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering
Ketan Rajawat, Associate Professor at IIT Kanpur, holds a B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Kanpur and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on signal processing, robotics, and communication networks, with expertise in distributed and online optimization algorithms applied to machine learning, smart grids, and signal processing. A Senior Area Editor for IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, he has received the 2018 INSA Medal for Young Scientists and the 2019 INAE Young Engineer Award.
Dr. Ankush Sharma
Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering
Dr. Ankush Sharma, with 24 years of experience, specializes in power systems and smart grids, having worked in teaching, R&D, consultancy, and project management. Formerly a Research Scientist at TCS and Wipro, he has executed multiple consultancy projects and is PMP certified. Holding a Ph.D., M.Tech., and B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur and HBTI, he has published extensively in IEEE journals and global conferences. His accolades include the PACE Fellowship (2019), POSOCO Power Systems Award (2015), and multiple academic honors, alongside certifications in Big Data, Cloud Computing, and Finance.
